The effects of acne can give someone lower self-esteem, a lack of confidence, and an inability to fully express oneself. We've all been through that path at least once in our lives. The first thing you need to do is find a facial cleanser that works for you. You may go all out and buy monthly supplies of ProActiv. But sometimes this isn't necessary. A simple mild soap can do wonders if you pick the right one. There are also many home remedies you can use from washing your face with water and applying different facial masks: lemon juice extract, cucumber puree, avocado paste with water, oatmeal with a little bit of honey, etc. The important thing is to find a facial cleanser that is effective in cleaning out your pores and making sure no oils and bacteria are left behind.

I really believe that this tip is important. I mean there may not be scientific evidence to back this up. But I think that eating healthy is really helpful in treating your acne. Just a quick example would be when I was in college, the time where I didn't have my mom to cook food for me, I remember either eating out everyday or pigging out on fast food. Even when using a good cleanser, I still got acne. Nowadays, instead of all those times of greasy French fries and soda, I eat more meats, vegetables, and drink more water. Using just a simple cleanser, I don't have that bad of an acne problem anymore.

For example, if you have long hair, just tying it back may help you reduce acne since hair gets dirty and oily easily. Same goes with changing your pillow case every so often and resisting the urge to touch your face. All in all, these little things can really help you prevent having more acne than what could possibly happen if you were to be careless.
