Sometimes I get this feeling that the more I eat chocolate, the worse my acne is going to get. It's hard for me to stare at a Hershey's Extra Creamy Milk Chocolate with Toffee and Almond's Bite Size Chocolate Bar, without me opening up the wrapper and joyfully eating it. We've all been guilty of this. The question is does eating chocolate cause acne?
There answer is no. There is no scientific evidence that chocolate causes acne. Here are things that can cause acne though:
1) Oily skin
2) Dry skin
3) Squeezing pimples
4) Increased hormones
5) Extreme stress
And here are things that can make acne worse:
1) Not changing your pillow case
2) Constantly having a bad diet
3) Hair on face
4) Cosmetics on face
5) Touching face with dirty hands
So if you're wondering does eating chocolate cause acne, as you can see, chocolate does not fit into any one category. BUT this does not mean that you should go all out in eating junk food. Just because there is no scientific correlation between food and acne, I believe that having a bad diet will lead to acne.
Try spending days eating chocolate, chili cheese fries, greasy hamburgers, and consuming soda. I wouldn't be surprised if you got acne, since I have done this and have gotten plenty of it.
The best thing to do is eat chocolate sparingly. You should have a healthy diet consisting of eating meats, fruits, and drinking lots of water. This will help your skin cells work properly and maintain healthy looking skin. As of right now, chocolate doesn't cause acne so if you plan to eat chocolate, a few won't hurt. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go eat one right now.
